CàMazzega Appartamenti a Murano
Ca’Mazzega is located in Venice’s historic center on the famous island of Murano, that ties its history, its fortune and its very name to the working of glass into its highest artistic expression.
This small villa is situated on the Fondamenta Venier and faces the Grand Canal of Murano, one of the main and most romantic water channels of the Venetian lagoon. It offers a splendid view of the 14th century Palazzo da Mula, the Vivarini Bridge, the 14th century Church of Saint Peter Martyr and on the open lagoon.
Ca’Mazzega was built around 1880. In 2005, the owners divided and completely renovated their family house with particular attention, creating four luxury apartments which still maintain their original architectural character. The renovation, which terminated in 2006, also includes a garden and two low buildings that originally housed the Mazzega mirror production that began in 1890. This family industry still exists in a different location, across the canal. Today, this space is used for a permanent exhibition of an internationally renowned glass artist.
